ICRC pilot project in Afghanistan: Replacing plastic with cardboard in non-food item distributions

Through the Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance (SSCA) project, the ICRC is working to make changes to make its supply chains more environmentally friendly. In Afghanistan, the ICRC replaced the plastic packaging used for NFI distributions in prisons with cardboard, saving 60,000 plastic bags per year.
