This report – produced with financial assistance from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) – aims to enhance understanding of donors’ ambitions and expectations in terms of the greening of humanitarian assistance, whilst promoting learning and joint action. It builds on earlier analyses by the same authors and focuses on reducing the climate and environmental footprint of humanitarian aid (mitigation), rather than adaptation. The report explores donor policies and approaches, funding, collective action, and measures donors are adopting to reduce their own climate and environmental footprints.
