Filling the gap: Addressing climate-driven crises in Pakistan, November 2022

Existing funding systems are not working for the new realities of climate change and its impacts on people, particularly those most marginalised and least responsible. The author examines the current response to the 2022 floods in Pakistan. This briefing highlights the shortfall in funding for the humanitarian appeal, the speed of response and the participation of local actors. Throughout, it discusses aspects of ‘Loss and Damage’ finance as an important part of addressing climate change impacts.
