The Humanitarian Environment Network (REH) invites you to its next public webinar, focusing on rapid environmental screening tools in international aid.
As intervention contexts are increasingly marked by climate risks and environmental degradation, how can field teams practically integrate these issues into their projects?
On the agenda:
1. Results of the MERA pilot project in Burkina Faso: The REH Environmental Assessment Working Group will present the lessons learnt from the pilot carried out in the first half of 2026 with 13 international and national NGOs in Burkina Faso: how was MERA used in the field? What does a comparison with NEAT+ tell us? What recommendations are there for the future?
2. Strengthening the capacities of local humanitarian actors: Progress update on the Environmental and Climate Mainstreaming in Humanitarian Action project, led by NRC and the Swedish Red Cross, targeting nearly 1,500 local humanitarian actors in 21 countries (presentation to be confirmed).
3. The future of NEAT+: how should we respond to the threats facing this tool? Feedback on the joint position paper Save Our NEAT+, which calls on donors and decision-makers to ensure the sustainability of this essential tool, and future prospects. Then, speach of Erika Clesceri, Co-Founder of the Joint Initiative for Greener Humanitarian Assistance.
This event is organised by the REH Environmental Assessment Working Group, with the support of Groupe URD.
