Kit “Best practices for maintenance & waste management of solar equipment”, REH, February 2026

This work brings together a series of best practice sheets dedicated to the maintenance and management of end-of-life solar equipment (waste): photovoltaic panels, batteries, inverters, regulators, and technical rooms. It includes five fact sheets and a poster. Developed by the Solar Waste Working Group, these resources are intended to support field workers, initially in the implementation of simple and safe level 1 maintenance, in order to maximize the performance of installations, extend their lifespan, and reduce waste production. Secondly, they aim to support field workers in implementing safe and operational solar equipment waste management (risks, storage conditions, appropriate personal protective equipment, collection and recycling solutions by type of equipment). They are part of a comprehensive approach to sustainability, safety, and responsible management of solar energy systems and waste.
