In response to the worsening climate and environmental crises, Solidarités International is strengthening its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and adapting its operational practices to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
With this in mind, SI has developed a decarbonization manual for its field teams. This methodological tool aims to provide practical support for reducing greenhouse gas emissions at the level of missions and bases.
The manual offers an operational approach, adaptable to different contexts and their constraints, and enables, in particular:
This approach can be implemented flexibly, according to the needs and priorities of each mission.
Originally developed specifically for Solidarités International, this manual reflects the organisation’s specific operating procedures. However, it is now available to other organisations wishing to use it or draw inspiration from it.
Please note that this manual is a first draft and is subject to further development. It is intended to be amended and expanded based on feedback from the teams and partners who will use it in the field.
