The purpose of this session is to present the work of the humanitarian environment network REH (Réseau Environnement Humanitaire) Waste Management Working Group on developing a Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) template for organisations, and to gather technical feedback from partners with experience in waste management planning to help strengthen the template.
A Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) is understood as a strategy used by an organization to avoid, reduce, reuse, recycle and dispose waste.
✅ Build understanding of Solid Waste Management Plans for organisations.
✅ Gain practical insights on how to take stock and sustainably manage waste generated at mission level.
✅ Learn from existing organisational practices and tools.
