Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian medical association founded in 1971, provides medical assistance to populations whose lives are threatened: mainly in cases of armed conflict, but also in the event of epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters or exclusion from healthcare.
As part of a maternity leave replacement, the Logistics Department at OCP is looking for an EHA Technical Advisor responsible for waste management.
Context :
The growth in volume and increased specialization of activities, as well as commitments to reduce environmental impact, present the organization with new organizational and technical challenges.
Activities:
Under the hierarchical responsibility of the OCP Technical Support Manager;
Participate in defining technical policies
- Participate with management in defining technical policies by contributing expertise in your area of specialization in line with departmental strategy and policies
- Monitor the implementation of procedures in your area of specialization
- Represent and promote the interests of MSF France and OCP in defining the movement’s policies
Be the guarantor of techniques and tools for their specialty
- Write procedures and guidelines and ensure they are followed
- Engage in R&D for new equipment or practices
- Research innovative practices and techniques
- Keep abreast of technical developments in your field
- Take into account the needs and constraints of users in the field
Provide advice and support to field staff and units
- Advise and support coordinators and logistics managers in the unit in their decision-making relating to their technical specialty
Be responsible for monitoring and analyzing your activity
- Participate in defining the necessary benchmarks for monitoring and reporting tools
- Analyze the components of your activity for all assignments at least once a year
Contribute to the development of cross-functionality
- Share information and knowledge, develop the ability to work with other services or departments in the context of cross-functional project management
- Share technical advances, develop practices, ensure product referencing, and coordinate activities and certain background files with counterparts in other sections
Contribute to skills transfer
- Help define training content
- Provide training to all field logistics staff in their area of expertise and help manage the pool of logisticians
- Ensure that headquarters staff, particularly Logistics Managers in the Unit, maintain a high level of competence in their field
Required profile:
Qualifications and experience:
- Education: Minimum 2 years of higher education
- Experience in the field of the environment, waste treatment, and/or Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
- Two years of experience in humanitarian/cooperation missions is a prerequisite.
- Previous experience with MSF is an asset.
Skills:
- Mastery of technical skills in your area of expertise.

Specific features of the position:
Status: 4-month full-time fixed-term contract. Position based in Paris. Teleworking in accordance with MSF rules (2 days/week).
Conditions: €50,400 gross per annum over 13 months. 22 days of RTT per year. Supplementary health insurance covered 100% by Médecins Sans Frontières. Meal vouchers with a face value of €12 (60% covered by Médecins Sans Frontières). 50% of public transport costs covered.
