On 7 and 8 October 2025, the French Development Agency (AFD) will host the international conference of the EU-AFD Research Facility on Inequality and its Extension, entitled: ‘From Evidence to Action: Fighting Inequality for a Sustainable World’.
This two-day event will bring together many influential voices to address one of the most pressing issues of our time: How can we reconcile social justice and environmental goals in a just transition — and how can we finance it?
As inequalities widen and climate threats intensify, low- and middle-income countries face a double challenge: reducing poverty and inequality while pursuing sustainable development goals. In this context, research and international cooperation are converging to promote inclusive, justice-based solutions that articulate social and environmental ambitions.
This conference will build on several years of research conducted under the EU-AFD Research Facility on Inequality to explore concrete avenues, innovative financing mechanisms and integrated policies linking social equity and environmental sustainability.
This conference is aimed at:
Policy makers, researchers, development professionals, financial institutions and civil society organisations committed to more equitable and resilient development.
Join this conference on 7 and 8 October to explore solutions, build partnerships and share ideas.
